Nourishing Chai Latte (Amrita)

Amrita (Sanskrit: अमृत, IAST: amṛta), Amrit or Amata,(also called Sudha,Amiy,Ami) is a word that literally means "immortality" and is often referred to in texts as nectar, the ambrosial drink or food granting immortality. Word origin of 'amrita' < Sans amṛta, deathless, hence drink that makes immortal < IE base *mer-: see ambrosia. This blend utilizes the spores of Reishi Mushroom, known as "The Mushroom of Spiritual Potency" as well as "The Mushroom of Immortality" and a blend of Immune nourishing tonic herbs and mushrooms to help bring the body and mind to a state of harmony and opulent health.

HERBAL PROFILE

  • Reishi: The Queen of Mushrooms - Arguably the greatest tonic herb on earth, Reishi has been clinically shown to support virtually every system in the body and bring the entire organism to a healthy balance. Reishi acts as an immunomodulator - neither stimulating nor suppressing the immune system but fine-tuning and 'harmonizing' it.

  • Chaga: The King of Mushrooms - a masculine counterpart to Reishi, Chaga serves a narrower range of functions but serves those functions extremely powerfully. Chaga is known for it's high SOD (Super Oxide Disumutase) content, an antioxidant enzyme helpful for protecting against the damage and mutation of DNA. Also serving as a dual-directional immunomodulator helpful for it's immediate and powerful response to illness.

  • Shiitake: Shiitake mushrooms contain many chemical compounds that protect your DNA from oxidative damage, which is partly why they’re so beneficial. Lentinan, for example, heals chromosome damage caused by anticancer treatments. Eritadenine substances help reduce cholesterol levels and support cardiovascular health. Researchers at Shizuoka University in Japan found that eritadenine supplementation significantly decreased plasma cholesterol concentration.

  • Maitake: As a medicinal food, maitake has several notable attributes. Foremost, several studies show it modulates glucose levels, which can be especially important for limiting the development of Type 2 diabetes. Maitake has also been widely researched for its effects on the immune system. Several researchers corroborate that maitake causes apoptosis (“programmed suicide”) of cancer cells and contains anti-angionenesis properties. That means they can restrict the proliferation of bloods cells that feed tumors.

  • Turkey Tail: Turkey tail mushrooms may help cancer patients who are going through chemotherapy. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has conducted clinical trials for a turkey tail extract to be consumed by patients who have advanced prostate cancer and are enduring conventional chemotherapy as well as testing how well it helps women with breast cancer in combination with a vaccine treatment in hopes of a new and better form of cancer therapy.

    • Astragalus: The Great Protector - Astragalus is an adaptogenic herb with a very long history as an immune system booster and disease fighter. Astragalus is considered by some to be the most powerful immunity-boosting herb. It has been shown to enhance immune function by increasing the activity of certain white blood cells which increases the production of antibodies (IgA and IgG), increase the production of interferon (an anti-viral and anti-tumor agent naturally produced by the body), as well as stimulate natural killer cells and t-cells.

    • Cat's Claw: The most concrete evidence on the effects of cat’s claw relates to its impact on the immune system. The powerful range of alkaloids found in it can help to stimulate the immune response of the body, namely increasing the white blood cell count and stimulating antioxidant action throughout the body. This can help to prevent diseases from spreading, and can also eliminate bacterial infections and any other pathogens that may be attempting to weaken out the system. Isopteropodin is the most important chemical that can directly be attributed to this immune system boost.

    • Licorice Root: Serves as a bioenhancer, increasing the bioavailability of other herbs in a formula. Virtually all Chinese herbal formulas contain licorice because it assists in gastrointestinal absorption and "harmonizes" the herbal blends. More than 400 compounds have been isolated from licorice, including isoliquiritigenin and naringenin. These constituents promote regulatory T cell induction, which plays a critical role in controlling immune responses and preventing autoimmunity. (Source: Dr. Mercola)
