The Awakening of Authenticity

Join us for an evening of Cacao, Socializing, Music, and Queer-centric poetry presented by 20 local LBC/LA based poets. This events theme is Transcendence.

What is it?

A safe space for authentic & vulnerable self-expression. Honoring Queerness as a vehicle to exploring our most authentic self. A space to purposefully shed the weight of social,  cultural & familial projections with the goal of uncovering, examining & defining our own self-realized truths. Truths that often transcend any personal identification with our assigned/assumed gender and may also branch out into the areas of race, faith, ethnicity &/or sexuality. A space to freely explore the nuances of our authentically expansive selves via poetry!

Who is it for?

Everyone willing to mindfully hold space for others & potentially bear their own soul!

Why Queer?

Since the vast majority of social spaces default to the (cis/straight) majority experience we've set out to create a space that defaults to the Queer experience, encouraging a safe & uninhibited exploration into Queer love, intimacy, joy, pain, struggle, triumph, etc. while encouraging others to expand their awareness of Queerness & explore their own identities & curiosities through a broader lens.
